a pros and cons repsonse really isn't that simple to give as its subjective ans depends on your personal circumstances any surgery carries risks and the potential for long term problems so can vaginal births ...for some women their mental health superceded their physical so it really does depend on your reasons/ need for one ...not an answer I know but no ones personal experience will necessarily reflect your own potential experience all you can so is make the best decision you feel is for you

@leelee thank you

I haven’t had one, but I have a few friends who had really positive experiences. Obviously recovery is brutal as it’s major surgery, but 10 years on some of them say it was the best choice they made having an elective after a traumatic vaginal birth. Everyone’s experience is so different, but do what you think is right ❤️

@Gemma thank you so much 😊

The actual op is fine but I really struggled mentally after mine took me a while to recover probably didn’t feel fully okay to go on a good walk until 6-8 weeks x

@Georgina thank you for sharing your experience. I am considering for a C section and wanted to know if it would be best option to choose. 😊

I elected a CS over induction as my baby was never engaged. I found the actual op and recovery fine, but I did sustain a bladder injury (endo related that I didn’t know about), so spent 4h in surgery awake. Sent home after 5 nights with a catheter for 4 weeks which was pretty savage ngl but at the end of the day my risks for an emergency section were too high and the general consensus is I (well, my bladder!) may not have got off so lightly in an emergency. It may have been the fact I had the catheter that made the section recovery seem like a breeze… I would (and have to) have another elective section. Now they know what’s going on in there hopefully it won’t happen again.

@Chloe thank you for sharing your experience. I am sorry hear about your bladder injury. I hope you are doing well now. ❤️

@Ashwini Sinha thank you, all good now! The brain is pretty remarkable at wiping one’s memory! Can’t have been that bad if I’m about to do it again xxx
