Stitches

How long does stitches last for? Any mamas out there who had PP stitches? Does it fall out on its own? Or dissolve? Is there supposed to be strings hanging out? It’s my first time having them? So idk it’s kinda hurting me and poking my private area? Sorry if it’s too much info!

Same went for me! But over time they dissolved.

with my first i had a few in random places. it took 4-5 weeks for them to dissolve

Im at week 4 and a couple days and theyre still there😭

I was starting to wonder the same thing. I’m just so itchy and nothing really relieves it 😭😭😭

I'm 5 weeks pp and still have stitches. I had an appt today and she said they are starting to dissolve so I may see pieces when wiping. If yours are causing discomfort, reach out to your midwife/OB and see if you can get an appt for them to check.

@Jennifer check up are you supposed to go on your 6 weeks of PP or before? But thank you! It just poking me and hurts but I don’t want to touch it or pull on it.

@Jess okay thank you!

@Emilee it’s not itchy but it’s poking me and hurts every time I sit or lay or move. Not sure if that’s normal?

@Emilee twerk that itch out seriously helps like crazy , also if they gave you a bidet go to the bathroom and spray your coo.

@Alana I can’t twerk to save my life 😂😂😂 I do have a peri bottle and it helps when I use it, but as soon as I get up, I’m itching again

@Rachel it depends on if you had a vaginal birth vs c section. C section they see you two to three weeks pp then the normal six weeks

@Emilee loool😭😭 just a little wiggle if you can. I try and do it and walk or even sit in the seat, smh it’s the only relief. Wish we had a cream we could use! The dermoplast spray doesn’t always help with the itch either

@Mikayla I had a vaginal birth. She rip me just a little. But on my paper it says on my 6 weeks to see them?

@Rachel most get checked at 6 weeks. I got checked a little early because of a severe tear (3c). My OB wanted me to see a urogynocologist on top of my regular check ups to make sure I'm healing well.
