Negative thoughts and opinions from others

Has anyone had family or friends give you their opinions of having another baby in your 40s? I am a mother of 3 children(20,16 & 15months old) and am pregnant again. I know that there are health concerns, but I personally don't care of the what ifs. We will love our little bundle(s) of joy no matter what🥰 I am good most days with the concerns and negative comments, but then there are those other days.

I’ve had a lot of people say they didn’t think I wanted any- we had fertility treatment for eight years. Also that I’ll be dead before they’re grown. 😳 And my hyperemesis is because I’m old - I had it when I was pregnant at 24 (sadly lost at 23 weeks), but never mind. I try to just ignore them, but it is hard, and it already wasn’t smooth sailing.

@Donna I completely understand hun. I have been told are you sure that you want to go through a miscarriage again. Before Jasper(15months now, we miscarried twins 5&8 weeks). I get it, sadly I do. I'm a short, curvy woman and not at pre-pregency weight(been a hard year).

Honestly let them think what they want:) as long you are happy thats all that matters! Who are they to tell you when to have kids?:)

@Helena this is what I believe too. It's just trying to get my partner on board on what his parents may think.

Well I say this, I had at least 8 miscarriages in my 20’s and 30’s (maybe more, I seriously lost count over time bc they were very early losses). But in my 40’s? Zero miscarriages and 1 healthy baby boy (conceived naturally). So yeah, my miscarriage to healthy birth ratio is much better in my 40’s. People unfortunately have a very limited and ignorant view of motherhood over 35+. The “increased risk” people make such a big fuss over is literally less than 1% difference, smh. @Tarryn thank you for sharing your journey with me. Hugs to you Momma, and I will seek that book out
