C-section mamas

Gone for an elective c-section for 40 weeks +1 due to being told baby is large. Only decided today at 39 + 2 as he has had quite the growth spurt! (Healthy but big baby). I don’t have GD. Positive elective c-section stories most welcomed! Nervous but know my body and that it’s the right thing for me and baby.

I'm also having an elective c-section next week - solidarity! Everyone I've spoken to who's had an elective has said it was a really positive experience. Obviously a difficult recovery but so's a vaginal birth!

I had an emergency C-section on Saturday and given the option again I would choose elective. The section itself was a breeze and recovery is tough but with the painkillers and moving about it's getting easier each day.

I have just had my elective c section Monday came home yesterday at 6 , the waiting part is the longest for me I was told to come in for 11 there was only me and one other girl going in I was the 2nd one I wasn’t allowed to eat nothing from 6am so I do definitely recommend u to eat before 6am I didn’t have my little boy til 5pm and I wasn’t allowed to drink nothing from 11am either so my mouth was so dry , it was a peaceful experience I would do it again if I did have more kids in the future , am on day 2 of recovery and I have a toddler too so that’s a little hard but make sure you get plenty of help and stay on top of medication and you will be fine but good luck and hope it all goes well for you 🥰🥰

I had an elective c section on Thursday and I had a really good experience! The procedure itself is pain free and you will see your baby after around 10 mins. I was able to walk around after around 6 hours and the pain has been very minimal since day 3 post surgery! The key is definitely to make sure you’re getting plenty of rest and that you prioritise moving around as soon as possible
