Mama: Water, snacks, lip balm, flip flops, non slip shoes for home, forget undies/pads best thing you can do is get yourself some depends (or whatever adult diaper brand is around), extra long charger cords, comfy loose clothes and easy access tops if bf (include options that are both long and short because yes hospitals are cooler but I also got really hot pp), peribottle and anything else you’d like for comfort (pillows, throw blanket, gown, slippers, etc)
Baby: nappies, wipes, colostrum if you’ve collected it (labelled/frozen and don’t forget to give it straight to the hospital), pack small newborn and newborn size clothes - a few body suits, vests & sleep suits (zips are best so you don’t have to fk around with 1000 buttons when changing), blanket or swaddle if you’re using, a little hat (check your suits for built in hand/foot covers - if they have them you likely won’t need mittens/socks) I’ll be honest first time around I didn’t end up using half the things I packed. For my 3rd baby I literally used a backpack for both me and baby’s things
Ahhh been there! Hello lovely! The NHS has guidelines and that pretty much is all the essentials! I would just note a few things to get which are not on the list 1) water bottle with a straw as it’s hard to unscrew a cap in between contractions 2) 3m phone cable as the plugs are far from the bed 3) postpartum belly wrap if not C-section delivery to support your abdominal You can also buy or create your own hospital bag at mybabynest.co.uk you’ve got this! 💪🏻 For baby I would still get 2 hats, 2 gloves, 3 sleep suits, 3 vests, 1 blanket, 1 muslin cloth and 1 swaddle just be careful the baby doesn’t overheat in summer
I got organiser bags from amazon which helpedme pack😊
Thank you girls!!! Will have a look and get packing🫶🏼
I’ve saved this from the NHS
