@Nisha was it always falling the same amount throughout those 5 months? If that’s the case I’ll be bald by the time it stops shedding 😬😂
Mine started at 5 months and it seems to have sorted out now! I still get fallout but no where near as much as I used to; I had to empty my hoover 3 times in one session due to it being blocked with hair it was sickening 😂😂😂
It was very bad in the beginning I would say 3-5.5 months then started slowing down until 8 months. My baby is turning 8 months soon but I’m just predicting because I’m shedding very little now. I hope it would stop completely at 8. Yep I thought I was gonna be bald too. I even cut my hair. But nope, not bald, just very thin hair but I have a lot of baby hair now.
Started for me about 3-4 months pp and finally stopped after close to a year. Hair is absolutely wild now with the regrowth and I'm pregnant again so dread to think what it'll be like in a years time😂 found the best thing was to give it a good brush in the morning before I shower then dont brush it at all until after I fully dried it then brush through it super gently or just run fingers through it to untangle any messiness from the drying. Less faffing with it the better but its totally normal and one thing my hairdresser actually mentioned was to remember its normal and dont stress about it because stress can add to the hair loss🤦♀️ just be prepared to be unclogging drains and emptying the hoover more often😂
Mine lasted around 3 months and I also thought I would go bald as I was also losing sooo much each shower/hair brush. My hair did thin, but I didn’t have any noticeable bald patches. It then started again around 11 months post partum and I found out it was due to low iron so I would get checked if your hair loss doesn’t stop, or returns later on. Iron deficiency is common following birth apparently.
@Amy pre pregnancy I was diagnosed as heavily anemic and I was mentioned that by the doctors. My iron levels got better during pregnancy but im guessing the also dropped.
@Taiya the issue is that I have to style it after washing so there is no way of not brushing in but I try to be as gentle as possible(until I get super annoyed with the knots 😒) Ugh the hoover… that is something else 😬
@Nisha the sides of my forehead were already showing quite a lot before the shedding, now there isn’t much hair left there. My hairline change shape as well… I had a big forehead now is even worse 😂
@Kristen so just roughly 4 weeks? If that’s the case it’s good but hearing about some that had constant shedding for months… it just scares me 😂 Yupp I do the same with my hoover too… blah 😑
@Sisi ok so I would definitely get a blood test to check. I was also anemic pre pregnancy, and I now take iron tablets daily to manage it.
@Amy I will definitely consider. Thank you ☺️
I was good for the first 4 months then it peeked at 6/7 months and still going through it at 8 months 😩 so we’re on the same boat, no clue when it ends
Mine fell out so much fora few months then it kind of stopped when I started taking collagen and rosemary shampoo
Mine started somewhere between 3 and 4 months I thought mine would never stop falling out I had to cut big chunks out that got matted. My new hair has already started growing back in now at just over 8 months.

My hair still falls out like this 4.5 years later
@Sisi yeah the brushing is a nightmare! As frustrating as it is its less traumatic for the knots to go slowly and work your way up from the length to the root in small amounts until the knots are out rather than dragging from the root down to start with. It doesn't last forever and the loss always looks worse out of your head than what you've actually lost overall
@Nina that can’t be normal. I would suggest have your iron levels checked. I used to be anemic and my hair was falling too much too.
Mine started when baby is 3 months old and stopped when he’s 8 months.
