Toddler terrified to poo 😢

My two year old has had a fear of soiling from a very young age.. it’s all I can remember in relation to her toileting to be honest. The minute she had an awareness of it she has had a fear. As a baby, she wouldn’t even go in a nappy, i had to hold her on the toilet every day since about 6 months old old. (Even then she would scream but I could manage to her to go). She has been toilet trained for about 6 months and things continued as normal if she said she needed a poo, I would take her to the toilet/potty and she would scream but still eventually go. Recently she’s got to a point now she can manage to control it where she won’t even pass it anymore. She’s on movicol so it is loose enough and soft enough that it won’t hurt but she will screammmm. These last two days she’s so ready to go she’s passing tiny bits into her knickers but the minute I get her on the toilet she refuses. I don’t know what to do about this fear but the way she reacts it’s literally like she’s petrified. Is there anything I can do 😣

My daughter had (sometimes still has) the same thing. We found a reward chart helpful for getting her to go for a while. We’ve also found it helpful to not give too much attention and ignore it when she makes a fuss to go. Sounds a bit mean but she knows what she needs to do and how to do it, so we just say ‘okay you get on the toilet when you’re ready’ and carry on with other things. Then we make a big fuss with lots of praise when she’s been x

following because my son struggles with this too. he’s completely potty trained but when it comes to pooping he is terrified and will run around holding it.

My daughter was so good on the potty when we started training and she pooped on the potty for like 5months then she started nursery and something must have happened i have no idea but she is acting exactly the same 😭 she will tell me she needs to go she will sit on the potty and she will stand right back up and say its not working 🤦‍♀️ but then every few minutes she will cry she needs to poo. She has been having so many accidents and i dont know how to snap her out of it 🥲 if you find a solution please let me know
