Braxton hicks

Is it normal to not be able to feel braxton hicks or even realise you are getting them? I had my 38 week midwife appointment yesterday and the midwife was feeling baby’s position and she said I was getting a lot of braxton hicks and asked if they were painful or uncomfortable but I couldn’t feel a thing, I didn’t even realise I was getting them.. is this normal ?

I've had 2 babies and Idk if I ever even felt any!

I never got any. Pressure, yes. Not cramp-like Braxton hicks or any false alarms. Once my contractions hit, that’s it that’s the real thing, goes up in pain and gets closer and closer as the hours go by and I push for a bit and baby is here. I don’t feel nothing beforehand except pressure. I don’t leak milk either but I can BF just fine. Sometimes I did cramp up a lil after sex but that’s was because I orgasmed 3-4* lol that’s not braxton hicks that comes on spontaneously

With any luck, you'll have a silent labour!

I did feel a couple kinda crampy pains near the end of my first pregnancy but I didn't even feel the beginnings of actual contractions that the machine was picking up while checking on baby and the nurses were shocked and confused (apparently they were big ones). Had baby early the next morning and from starting to feel contractions to birth was about 3 hours with minimal pain and I was silent apart from some deep breathing and cracking jokes (I use comedy to cope lol). Here's hoping your labour and delivery is much the same and all goes well

It's starts on gentle cycle for some folks congrats you're so lucky

I have two children and not felt Braxton hicks in either pregnancy once.

Never had them!

I was induced with my first, when I went in and had monitors put on they said I was already having very regular contractions and I couldn’t feel a thing!! As labor progressed I started to feel them more and more.

i didn’t feel any braxton hicks with my first born, this baby they’re super often and uncomfortable, sometimes even painful, but my first pregnancy he was a small baby and i had the easiest labour, this time round he’s supposed to be a big baby and im high risk so maybe my body is extra preparing me for labour (even tho my contractions hurt like a bitch the first time round, before i was even 1cm dilated bcos i have low pain tolerance, so god knows what this birth will be like 😭)

Never had any with my first pregnancy x
