C section and sensitive stomach 💩

I don’t think I have IBS, but it doesn’t take a lot to upset my stomach 🤣 I’m Worried that all the meds will do this afternoon my section. Were Most of you ok? X

I have never heard of anyone suffering, think you are more likely to feel sick so they give you anti nausea meds. Definitely chat to the midwife though, if you wont be eating for a while itll probably be a while before you manage to poop anyway (and one on the softer side is usually better!)

I get upset stomach/sensitive stomach a lot. Had a csection Monday and have only pooped once so far. X

It’s more typical to experience constipation after a c section. They give you something to help make you 💩 afterwards, and that’s what triggered my IBS! Think I’ll be turning it down this time unless I feel I really need it x

I had a section on Saturday but still haven't pooped

Oh lord!! I will be drinking the laxative stuff x

I had an emergency section on Thurs 3rd because I had pre eclampsia. I didn't poop until Monday. They gave me 1 stool softener to drink in hospital and nothing else it was the worst experience of my life not gonna lie, I'd have the op again over the poo. Then I didn't stop with the pp diarrhoea all night. Haven't been since.. been drinking a stool softener every day

@Rosie does it hurt the scar or is it more psychological?

@Grace they didn't give me anything but I bloody wish they did! I didn't even get pain killers until I asked if I was allowed something. I would say ask if you feel you need someone, whether it's to poop or anti-sickness or for pain. For me the pain from the lack of poop was 100000x worse than the wound pain or the swelling pain. It is very sore after but for me more muscular sore. You do feel like you've been cut in half and also hit by a bus but I'd rather that than the Rubix cube up my butt feeling again

@Emma good to know! I had an emergency c section with my first and didn’t have constipation, had the opposite which I thought was due to the stool softener. But I think I’d rather take loose bowels over what you experienced! Hope you’re feeling better. X

@Katie to be honest some of it was deffo the worry, but in terms of the pain it wasn't so much the scar, more of an internal pain. I held a towel against my scar, had my knees up as high as my very swollen legs would allow (currently can't bend for swelling) and didn't push. I rushed home in just over 24hrs and deffo should have been in hospital longer and asked for more of the drink they give you. I wasn't given anything to bring home either but my community midwife sorted me with laxido which I've been taking 1 a day since. Like I say I've not been again since Monday and dreading it. But I survived ! It's a bit like a c section mam badge of honour.
