When can baby sleep through feedings?

My 2 week old needs to be woken up in between feedings (every 3-4 hours) at night…when can I just wait for her natural wake up to feed her? I.e. let me sleep longer too?!?

I’ve been told once they are well past their birth weight

Always good to double check with your pediatrician but general rule of thumb is once they’re past their birth weight and weight gain isn’t a concern.

My daughter does the same thing but once she has that warm milk in her belly and gets that burp out she can sleep comfortably

At my daughter's 1 month I was told she can go 5 hours overnight if she doesn't wake on her own. But make sure your pediatrician is ok with it. It's based on weight and that the baby is consistently gaining

@Mary Lou same My 2 week old and 2 days pediatrician appointment Was 2 days ago and I mentioned to her that he has been sleeping past 2 feeding and I can't wake him up at night He was 6 pounds and 14 oz at birth he is 7lbs and 8 oz Leave in the hospital after 5 days he was 5 pounds and 3oz But then the first week at the first appointment he jumped back up to 6lbs and 12 oz And then started About 3 days ago sleeping 6 hours straight At night My first born didn't do it until he was 4 weeks old but this 1's doing it 2 weeks old I'm okay with that Mommy can sleep 😅🥰

I was told that she can’t go past 4 hours of feeding. But if she does goes 4 hours of not feeding to not freak out. But 6 hours definitely a no no. My LO is 3 weeks. She sleeps usually she wakes up 4 hours? But most she wakes up is 2 to 3 hours to eat. So I don’t need to worry to wake her up she just wakes up when she’s hungry and I’ll feed her. Night time is very difficult it’s hard to get her to sleep she sleeps for 30 mins and wakes up to eat. But during the day she sleeps longer. But I still watch the time to make sure she doesn’t go past 4 to 6 hours. She waited 8 pounds and 8 ounces last time we went to her appointment. She was born 6 pounds and 19 ounces.

Currently 2 weeks old and daughter wakes up 2.5-3 hours. Ready for her to hit that longer stretch.

My two week old was under the 10% mark for losing birth weight (she was 7lbs 11oz at birth, stayed in hospital two nights, and at her first appointment she was down to 6lbs 1oz I think). Pediatrician said to wake her every 2 hours and supplement with formula over the weekend to make sure she was gaining weight. The following appointment, she had gained almost a full pound (but I hadn’t been sticking to the 2 hours 😅; it was more like 2-3). Then over the course of a week, I stuck with about 3-4 hours and she’d usually wake up on her own. If she started going over 4 hours though I’d wake her up. After the week, she was up to 7lbs 12oz, and I told the pediatrician what I said in the previous sentences, and she said, “hey- whatever’s working for you, Mama, and baby, keep on doing it.” I forget when my older daughter started sleeping through the night 🤔 I think she was probably around a month or two? She had no issues with latching or gaining weight in the beginning though

Check with your pediatrician, but I think a general rule of thumb is wake the baby up to feed at night in the first 4 weeks if it's been 4 hours. Then after that, they should be good to sleep for as many hours as they are weeks old at night (5 weeks = 5 hours, 7 weeks = 7 hours) as long as they are naturally sleeping that long and gaining weight still
