The Last Straw

My mother called me for the second day this week to tell me that I’m a horrible daughter and a piece of shit. My mother has consistently lashed out at me and blamed me for every single aspect in her life for the past 3-5 years. Every single time anything important is about to happen, my mom argues with me the days leading up or day prior so she can refuse to show up for me the day off. I know that it’s intentional. My mom has consistently been lashing out, cursing at me, and calling me of piece of shit for the entirety of my pregnancy. She’s repeated this behavior every single time I’ve been pregnant for the past three years. I’ve had enough. She called me to antagonize me because I chose not to respond to her passive aggressive texts. Blaming me for hurting her feelings. Claiming that she knew I was on my phone because I ordered groceries through Walmart and she got the notification. In the end she did what she always does, curse me out and refuse to help me when I was depending on her help. When I reminded her that I’m 9 months pregnant, bout to give birth any day, and don’t need this kind of stress to start my day. She said she didn’t care. She’s never going to change, and I have to cancel my babyshower because she isn’t going to help me with the decorations. I can’t deal out her potentially causing a scene or picking a fight with me. She’s not welcome in my home, and will not be invited or welcome at the hospital when I give birth.

I’m Sorry your going through this but I know how it feels my mum Is the same . She’s never happy for me and curses anything good I do in life . When I past my driving test instead of congratulating me she opened the door and said come get ur f*ing kids . When I lost my job and made redundant I got a job on a burger van to provide for my family until I could find something eles she said “ ur degrading urself ain’t u “ She’s always been all my brothers me being the only girl I feel she resents me for some reason il never understand why 😔 I found myself trying to buy her love for years and had to cut ties recently because nothing was ever good enough Maybe you should do the same for your own inner peace but do not cancel your baby shower that is your day 🩷

honestly you don't even need decorations. don't give her the satisfaction of knowing that she was the reason you canceled your shower. do what you can and enjoy your day 🩷 oh and block your mom for a while

I stoped talking to my bio mom from my freshman year in high school all the way up to my graduation bc this was how she treated me!! And when I let her back in she respected me in a new way!! It’s hard to cut off the ones we love even after they have hurt us over and over but sometimes it’s a lesson they need to learn!! You’re a strong woman don’t take no crap and live your life to the fullest even if the ones that should support you don’t…. Don’t let that stop you!! You are the only person that will be at the beginning of your life and the end you of your life so take care of you first in order to succeed!! That’s all your babies need is a mom taking care of herself so she can care for them!! Screw a grandma that don’t want the best for them!! Speaking for all moms with crappy bio moms! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU FOR YOUR STRENGTH AND YOUR NOT ALONE!!!!

@Sarah I really didn’t want to give her the satisfaction of having to cancel my baby shower. But I have a very significant tailbone injury after falling down the stairs a few weeks ago. My baby shower is supposed to be today and I wouldn’t have been able to manage properly setting up the festivities with two toddlers running around. To add further salt to injury, it’s been snowing since yesterday and will snow all day today. So it just seems best to cancel and return the decorations so I can recoup the money.
