C section or VBAC?

For all the Mummas who had a previous c section what’s your birth plans this time? I previously had a c section 2yrs ago and half swaying towards another section. What’s your plans this time? C section or VBAC? Xx

Hey, I had a c section 15 months ago, and as the births will be closer together than medical professionals prefer, I was opting for whichever the consultants think was safer for baby. So far, they’ve given me a list of risks for each, but the consultant I last met with told me if I have another c section I’d never be able to have a vaginal labour, and vaginal deliveries are always recommended unless there’s an issue. I think I’m going to go for a vaginal delivery unless there are any risks with doing so. X

I had a forceps delivery in Sept 21 and then a section in Jan 23 and I’m really hoping for a VBAC. The recovery for me personally was just sooooo much better after the vaginal delivery and with two toddlers at home I’d like to be back on my feet as soon as possible. I’m trying to be as open minded as possible though because personally when I had to have a section last time (due to placenta previa) I took it really hard because I just wasn’t prepared for a section. The whole way through I thought I’d have another vaginal delivery and I think that really fed into post partum depression afterwards. Watching as many VBAC informational videos as possible but yeah just going with the flow as much as possible x

I had an emergency c section last time and I’m planning for a vbac this time. I spoke to a consultant and because the reasons for my c section last time was my daughters health rather than mine, I’ve been given very little cons to trying vbac. With a toddler at home, I’m hoping I’ll be more active afterwards with a vbac and be able to spend time with her but I’m not against a c section. I’m happy doing what’s best for me and the baby

I had an emergency section July 22 and think I’m opting more towards a c section this time. I was induced first time and was in 6 days before it ending in a c section anyway. But I have said if I was to go into labour naturally first then I would be open to giving VBAC a go

@Parris NICE guidelines recommend that women are supported in their choice to have a vbac after up to 4 sections. So many consultants fear monger!

I'm planning my 4th vba2c. I would always opt for a vbac, especiallt given that you have other children to care for. There is 23 months between my last section baby and my 1st vba2c baby. Many consultants fear monger. I was told that I would never birth vaginally if I had a section with my 2nd child, I was told during my pregnancy with my 3rd that it wasn't done and wasn't possible. My 1st section was an emergency, my 2nd was elective.

Also, just to add there's a fantastic, evidence based group on facebook called vbac uk which really helped me make my decision

3 years between my first emergency c-section and this pregnancy. Unfortunately, I have no choice and have to have a c-section as I’m unable to give birth naturally due to the gap in my pelvis and pubic bone being too small for childbirth. X

Had a planned c section last time was the best decision I made, especially when many of my friends had very traumatic births which ended in emergency c sections anyway. Recovery also wasn’t an issue for me, although appreciate it will be harder with a toddler in tow this time. But it really depends on your reasonings for a c section and what’s best for you as everyone is so different
