Postpartum Depression

Do you think it’s possible to still have postnatal depression when our kids are this old? I didn’t ever speak to any medical professionals when my little one was born and I guess I thought it would just leave, but some days I really think wow this isn’t what life I want.

I think its possible but please speak with your GP. Be patient with yourself. Remember our hormones are all over the place for years after you give birth. I felt the same until I seeked helped and now I am enjoying life as it should be. You're doing great mummy ❤️

@Lauren thanks for being so kind. I just don’t really know how to approach them. I mean I do have good days but wow it’s harddddd!! Also our kids are born same day lol!

I approached them honestly. I said my moods are very low and all the other good stuff that comes with it. But you aren't on your own, and there are things that can help bring your mood back up. It took 3 different medications to get my mood right. I am on amitriplyline, and that's what works best for me. Don't be scared. It's a difficult convo to have with a stranger but the results in end are will worth it. Aww how cute. Be kinder to yourself x

100% - I’m starting with a therapist this week! My little one is - 18 months and it took me until January this year to pluck the courage up to speak to my GP about how I’ve been feeling, so yes, to answer your question I think 100% it’s still possible x

Depression period is possible. Post partum probably just turns into full on depression. Kids are hard, some harder than others and with little or no help from family etc it's even worse . Sleep deprivation etc.. they sell u on idea kids are great, have some etc, no have 1 if you have help or 2 with age gap... any way it's tougher mentally etc more so for some. Everyone feels different and can take it. I'm drowning in it but the more u have.. unless u had easy quiet sit and play girl nicely girl or boy. I had boys then girl. Boys are hard
