If contractions get closer together and more painful then your in labor. If they stay spaced out and stays a bearable pain tolerance then it's just Braxton hicks. That how I found out I was in labor. My water never broke nor did I ever lose my mucus plug. Just having real bad contractions. 🫠
@Lucy I was experiencing decrease in fetal movement. Granted I also didn’t know that I had an anterior placenta at the time.
Hey! They did an examination at 34 weeks? I hope they had good reason too! Signs of labour are regular contractions that happen 4 times in 10 minutes. Often they occur every 2 minutes and last 30-50 seconds. Your waters breaking (also known as SROM) may also be a reason to call but it’s important to know that just because your waters break doesn’t mean you’ll immediately have your baby/be in labour. Earlier signs of the body preparing include braxton hicks (fake, irregular and easier to cope with tightenings) mucous plug (often called a show) and there is some evidence that your digestive system can go a bit haywire due to irritation from everything else. Any bleeding or constant pain that doesn’t go away warrants a call to your local L&D.
