I used pillows and keep on top of painkillers
Day 3 was the worst for me! Taking my pain killers every two hours (paracetamol and ibuprofen) really helped - I set alarms so I remembered. Take it as easy as you can, and relax where you can. It absolutely does get easier, you just have to look after yourself early on so your recovery isn’t prolonged. This is my second section and recovery has been really smooth as I’ve known my limits.
Keep on the painkillers
I’m 4weeks pp, things do get easier🙌💗 if you’re able, please try and rest best you can! Take your time sitting down and getting up if that’s when it hurts most, stay on top of your painkillers. It definitely shocked me how hard it was too! Be honest with your midwife when they visit over the next few weeks, get them to check your incision, talk about how you’re feeling physically and they’ll provide the best advice for you. Something that helped me personally; I was struggling to lay flat in bed those first few days but my midwife said it’s because my scar got used to sleeping up right, I needed to be in a different position (all be it painful) to get it used to being in a different way if that makes sense? I was very quickly then able to lay on my sides and now even on my front for short periods of time🤗
