Same page here, his birthday was on Saturday and we had to cancel due to a 🥵 fever, he's now on antibiotics and recovering. We're all exhausted
I've just broken my foot so day out at a farm for his birthday cancelled
It was my 30th birthday in November. On that morning, my little boy fell very ill (D&V). We assumed he had had spoiled milk. The following day, partner and I became ill and bedbound - in laws had to stay two nights to take care of baby. My family (who had been over for my birthday takeaway as I couldn’t even go for a meal) then caught the sickness bug. Then the in laws caught it, and then the rest of the extended family over the next two weeks. It was horrific but I guess a 30th to remember! 🤣 Hope that makes you feel a teeny bit better although it wasn’t my little one’s birthday/party 😬
You’re not alone. We had our little ones party all planned for last weekend. Had to cancel because we all came down with Covid

It was my girls first birthday on Tuesday and we went on a caravan holiday in north Devon with both sets of grandparents and my auntie and cousin. We kept her home from nursery for 2 weeks as I knew there was a stomach bug going around and I didn’t wanna risk her being sick on her birthday. We travelled and met with everyone on Monday, prepped and ready for her birthday the next day, all super excited. The morning of her birthday she wakes up at 7am and vomits milk all over our bed. We kinda brush it off as just a big spit up but she goes down for her first nap and when she wakes up same thing happens and she brings up all of the milk she had before her nap. So we decide to give her some solids thinking maybe her milk is not sitting right… well 10 mins after eating a puree pouch, that comes straight back up. At this point all of the grandparents are freaking out saying she’s gonna get dehydrated, we need to take her to the hospital etc etc. We call 111 and they tell us … tbc
We call 111 and they tell us to pop into a local pharmacy so we go there. Pharmacy says they can’t do anything about babies being sick so just to stick to small and often milk feeds. So we go back and do that. She was then fine until midnight where she threw up again but nothing since. She was still her happy self and all was looking to be fine the next day. We then spent Wednesday at the beach all having fun, we had a big bbq and finally had the cake. Then in the night, my fiancé, my sister and my auntie all come down with sickness and diarrhoea. So Thursday (our last full day there) was spent looking after the sick ones. Then in the evening, I start feeling unwell but luckily I end up fine but my dad and my cousin also end up throwing up. The only people to survive our wonderful week away for my girls birthday was my mum and my fiancés dad 😅
Since we got home I’ve just been feeling so sad about the whole thing, we planned it ages ago and made sure everything was perfect for her special day, everyone spent so much money to come and spend time with us in a lovely location and we spent 80% of it in the caravan. Even the weather was perfect. But shit happens. It will be a story to tell 😅

sending hugs🥰 don't feel guilty xx
Thank you everyone! Turns out a lot of us have had small disasters of birthdays past and present 😭 It will definitely be a story to tell in years to come 🙏🏼 xx
Aww bless you lovely. All us mamas understand why you are gutted but she'll be ableto celebrate when she's got all her energy and she's fully recovered! 🙂 There's a horrible bug going round at the moment 🙄
I completely get why you're gutted, what a shame for you all! However I think this will be a funny story to tell when it's not so fresh! Not exactly the same but when I was young (maybe 4 or 5) my entire family got wiped out by a stomach bug on Christmas eve and so we didn't have Christmas until several days later. It's caused no lasting damage and now it's one of those funny stories we laugh about. You'll all be able to enjoy the celebration when you're feeling better and can make the most of it!
