Self weaning from breast

My baby has been combi fed since around 5 months due to a weight issue he’s been having 1 bottle of formula a day and breastfed on demand the rest of the time. The past week or so my baby has not been interested in breastfeeding at all. He would play, smack, pull, bite, wiggle basically everything but drink. But gets excited about a bottle. He’s almost 8 months old. Still is only on 1-2 small meals a day because he didn’t take to solids straight away. Could he just be self weaning? Im absolutely fine if he is as I know nothing can be done to prevent it and I’m so incredibly proud of myself for breastfeeding this long but at the same time it is also an emotional thing. Added a photo of the cutie 🥰

Yes he could be! My eldest self weaned at 14 months. You could try offering expressed milk if you wanted to or just keep persevering with breastfeeding but it hurts when they bite doesn't it 😂

@Emily I’ve tried four different pumps because of my anatomy pumping is very difficult and I get barely any milk which is why if he weans completely he will have to go fully on formula the last few months before one x

Ah okay! He definitely could be self weaning then - in a way that's nicer I think than having to wean them off!
