With my first, my supply dried up at 4 months. I tried everything and was miserable but I learnt that what’s most important is a healthy baby. She was formula fed and turned out great. Don’t beat yourself up. You’re a good mom and you’ve done your best. Stressing over your supply affects your supply. And if you need to call it a day, it doesn’t make you bad mom. Whatever you decide, you’re doing a good job!
I had to switch to formula after only 3 weeks of breastfeeding due to weight gain issues. It is so sad but it’s also been the best decision I made for both me & my little boy. You’ve done a brilliant job making it this long, you should be proud of yourself! And know that’s it’s absolutely ok to stop for any reason!
Hi, my journey is different to yours but my son was on NICU for 3 weeks when he was born and the stress made my milk dry up somewhat so whilst I built supply I mixed breast milk with formula. I did 50/50 and would take breast milk and formula out with me so I could make up bottles easily. I also took fenugreek capsules (3 a day), power pumped (20 mins pumping, 10 minute break, 10 mins pumping, 10 mins break, 10 mins pumping) in the morning and at night whilst pumping where I could elsewhere in the day. I managed to increase my supply. If it feels unmanageable call it a day as you’ve done the best you possibly could and should be so proud of yourself! ♥️
