I did a 3 mile round trip walk on day 6. I kinda wish I hadn't, pretty uncomfortable afterwards 😅 But i think 10 minutes either way would be fine.
Ah thankyou both! I'll have her dad here for the first few weeks too so I have time to pace myself in to it x
I was doing the school run from around day 10. My husband had 3 weeks off so on the third week we would get in the car and go half way and then walk the rest so I could ease myself into it. May be worth doing that if you can 😊 x
About a week, my daughters school is literally round the corner so only a couple minute walk but we live up 4 flight of stairs so that was the only tricky bit 😅
I did the school run day 3 but I didn’t push the pram my partner done it and I took my time and didn’t rush! Ours is roughly 5-7 min walk each way But when my partner was off he done it mostly and if I felt up to it I’d go x
After 2 weeks i had to - short drive and then lifting pram and car seat out before then walking up hill for the 2min walk nearly floored me 🫠 mainly because if rushing though i think. Tried to leave myself more time every day but it just never worked out so i would be walking faster than i was able to without causing myself pain
@Michaela that's a brilliant idea! Thankyou will definitely try that xx
@Zo this is what worries me, we're 3 flights up and I think I'll have to bend over to get down stairs lol x
@Ash🐷🐷 yeah ill take it slow, it'll just be to get out for some fresh air more than anything, going in to summery months I think I'll go crazy sat indoors lol x
@Cesca were you ok lifting the car seat etc? 2 weeks for paternity just isn't long enough after a c section is it!
I was doing the school run 3 weeks after my section as my daughter started reception and my husband only had 2 weeks off. The first few days we left early as my walking was a bit slow but we made it lol .
Yeah, but I knew I just had to manage! Couldn’t do much else for the rest of the day, was just absolutely knackered from the school run. Definitely doable. But everyone is different, you might find it much easier than me 😁 Our newborn baby was 10 days late - whereas our first was 2 weeks early so my husband took annual leave before baby was born thinking she would come much earlier haha. By the time she was born he only had 2 weeks left of his annual leave/paternity combo
I was walking at around day 10. Our walk is around 10/15 mins also but hilly, so I would just leave a little bit earlier than I usually would so I could pace myself.x
