Sorry just to add, the last suggestion is a last resort. adding alternative milk to formula is obviously at parents discretion as ofc they're not meant to have alternative milk as their main source of milk until 1 year. For some parents I think it was a better choice than the baby becoming unwell. Oatly barista edition is fortified with calcium, iodine and vitamin D etc, which is why it's a popular option in this situation. Didn't work for us unfortunately as my boy had a reaction to it. There's also a Tesco oat milk brand fortified similarly. X
@Beth thank you so much for your suggestions! I’ve just ordered the book off of Amazon! It’s so strange it seemed to come completely out of nowhere. On the whole she’s completely fine in herself she just won’t drink! Hopefully it works for us too 🤞
It's fine, I know how harrowing it is so I'm really passionate about helping others through it! Also I'm sorry I should have said, a trick is to download the book through audible so you can speed it up and listen in a day! A god send if you're a slow reader like me. Depends how desperate you are to read it quickly I suppose! Good luck x
Aww I'm sorry you're going through this! We went through it too! We used Roweena Bennett's 'your babies bottle feeding aversion' and it saved us! Really good results in 2 weeks but can take all babies different timescales depending on severity and reasons for aversion. We've also tried adding alcohol free vanilla essence which tbf doesn't seem to make much difference. I've heard people add nesquick/ crusha advised by their dietician for those in similar positions. I think there's certain flavours that are ok and some that aren't though. I also saw another woman said she actually swapped out the babies milk for oatly barista edition, until he was drinking regularly again, then slowly weaned the formula back and they ended up 50/50 oat and formula. For them it was better than baby only drinking 1/2 oz etc. it's not advised to do this unless the bottle aversion is fixed though (if that's what you think she has) because it just tricks them to drink and it will return after a few weeks xx
