Anyone else doing cervix checks at appointments? How's it going? 👀

I have my first one scheduled for next week and I’m honestly debating on whether or not I even want to do it
At what weeks did you start checking ? I’m currently 34 weeks
Im at 38 weeks tomorrow and I haven’t, I don’t like stuff up there from past trauma so I’m kinda going in blind 😂
I don’t plan on having cervical checks during pregnancy or labor. 🤷🏼♀️
@Valerie this! I’ve been seeing TT of women at 6cm for weeks 😭 with no labor
@Natalia yes! There’s very little information that a cervical check gives you. 🤷🏼♀️ sometimes even during labor. You could be at 8cm for 10 minutes, or for hours for example.
The first time they asked was at my 37 week appointment and I opted out. They are inducing me at 38 weeks though so I’m glad I didn’t do it as it won’t really make much of a difference in my situation.
Had 1 at 36 weeks appointment because a couple days before I was contracting for over 2 hours. 1cm but 0%.
I had one done last week at the hospital because I was having strong contractions and it showed on their monitors, but I’m not effaced or dilated. My regular OBGYN and high risk OBGYN hasn’t even suggested checking - I’m scheduled for an induction on the 30th
I was curious too! I had a cervix check at 36w 2d and I was 40% effaced and 1cm dilated and baby's head was floating at -2 station. It's my first baby. No other symptoms of labor :) and i am now 37w 2d.
Oh I'm 35 weeks btw and had one other cervix check this pregnancy prior to that due to braxton hicks, and my cervix was high and closed.
