Labour starting?

Hey everyone, I’m 37+1 today and just feel off. Lost my mucus plug maybe 2 weeks ago, I’ve got the worst upset stomach today and I’ve just been sick. I’m also cramping and got back pain. I’m scheduled to see my consultant later on but didn’t know if these could all be signs of early labour or not? Has anyone ever experienced this before?

Hey i had 0 idea what contractions would feel like and when I got them I had bad cramps. Felt like period cramp pains . That's the contractions!

I heard that your body is preparing to go into labour if you've got an upset stomach and cramping. The cramps will also more than likely be contractions. X

@Carmen definitely going to speak to my consultant today and see if they’ll check me. Can’t describe it I just feel weird and it’s the first time my whole pregnancy I’ve actually thrown up which is weird for me too x

Aw good luck then! To me it really does sound like the beginning of labour! You'll have your LO in no time 🫶🏽

Sounds like early labour - mine started as period pains and as it progressed I started being sick.

@Rachael do you think if I tell the consultant I think I’m in early labour that they’ll check me?

I didn’t have a consultant led birth but I would assume so?

If you think you might be in early labour and you’re under the care of a consultant - you should absolutely make them aware. That’s what my consultant told me anyway🤷🏼‍♀️I was induced with my first and had back-to-back contractions straight away so I don’t know what early labour is actually meant to feel like but I have heard that cramps and a dodgy belly are common at the start x

38+2 woke up yesterday with extreme sickness out of no where again, needing to wee every 15/20 minutes, went up to triage for reduced movements and turns out im in early labour! No other symptoms other than those however since coming home tonight to “progress further at home” like they told me to, the braxton hicks that I thought I was just having are a lot more intense and turned out to be early contractions! Triage wouldn’t check for dilation as his heart rate kept rising everytime it picked up I was having a contraction however to me when I was in triage they just felt like he was rolling around!! Also worth a mention my waters haven’t broke and I haven’t had my bloody show yet! xx
