@Jessica I want to sleep too 😭😭😭I know part of it is temperament. And all babies are different but why does it seem like many babies are the same? And they are sleeping???
Maybe those are the people that are posting because they have enough energy to 😂 my baby occasionally sleeps for 4 hours, has never slept for 5. It's usually never more than 3 at once
@Veronica literally same!!!!
My LO has only slept 5 hours maybe 3 times lol. Usually 3 hours and sometimes 4. He’s 9 weeks
Mines 9 weeks and we’re up every 1-3 hours 😭
My LO averages 2.5 hr stretches too. EBF - He is a really good eater, he rarely goes a 2 hr stretch during the day without eating and same goes at night. We are finally not needing a diaper change every time he wakes so I'll take that as progress!
Babies just differ in their sleep patterns and other parents aren’t being better parents. Some babies are just more wakey, or need more support during sleep cycle transitions. You are not failing. Your baby is not failing. If you are responsive and meet your baby’s needs despite sleep difficulties, you are doing an amazing job as a mama.
I feel you mama! My friend who’s LO is 3 weeks older than mine has been sleeping 10 hours thru the night for over a month now. I just about passed out when she told me that lol. My guy usually gets up 2 times during his stretch from 10p-8a, but he’s done 1 wake up a few times and it was glorious. We’ll get there and when we do, we’ll miss the middle of the night cuddles
You are not failing! Every baby is different. Try to get your baby’s calories in during the day and feed on demand, even if it seems like a lot. Them waking up at night may seem like the worst thing but it’s also great for them to be able to wake themselves up, and just know this will not be forever! You’re doing a great job!
8 weeks this week and I was up Every two hours last night ! We sometimes get every three but it’s not often.
Follow heysleepybaby on instagram, it helped me sooo much with my first to have realistic expectations on babys sleep
This is my second and he sleeps so much more than my first did at this age that I was actually concerned until I confirmed with the pediatrician that it was ok. Every baby really is different—my first was only sleeping 3-4 hours in a row at this age. She actually didn’t like being swaddled and slept for longer intervals when we switched to sleep sacks, whereas my son won’t sleep at all unless swaddled.
🫂 I definitely feel you on that feeling of failure & comparison. My LO is 7 weeks & I keep asking myself when will I see these long stretches like others who have stated they started getting longer stretches at 5 weeks & on see.
