Co-sleeping while away - help

We are a co-sleeping family and we are currently away from home and our usual set up. I thought we’d be able to push the bed against the wall and I counted on us having a firm mattress. The bed we are is immovable and this is probably the softest mattress I’ve ever felt in my life (so I know I won’t get a wink of sleep). Any tips on how we can get some sleep over the next few days? They provided a cot for us and no mattress but I’m not sure baby will take to the cot (highly unlikely).

Hi, I wouldn't worry about the mattress. Honestly we co-slept on many different beds and I never paid any attention to the mattress. Baby is happy as long as I am next to her 🤗 so chances are yours will be the same. This depends on your level of comfort and I know it isn't recommended, but at times baby girl sleeps in the middle as otherwise my body is dying of pain if I'm constantly feeding on one side only. We wouldn't have her in the middle as a newborn as too tiny but now she is much bigger, moves more and husband is used to her so we don't worry about him lying down on her. Just our experience X

@Gabi okay thank you for putting my mind at ease with the mattress. Yes, he sleeps in between us at home too now that he’s bigger so we should be fine. Okay I feel better. Thank you

Could you get a yoga mat to put underneath the sheet in the spot where baby is? X

@Sophie not tonight but could ask tomorrow thanks

In February I slept on a yoga mat on the floor and had baby on the changing pad next to me and that was probably the best sleep I've had since October!
