Only wants Daddy
Hey! My LG is almost 2 and she wakes every night (always has). But the last few weeks when she wakes up she is hysterical and shouting for ‘Daddy’. If ever I go to her she literally is unconsolable and fights me kicking and screaming wanting Daddy, which only wakes her up more! But she settles instantly in his arms is my partner goes. The problem is, it’s hard for my partner to do it all when she’s rejecting me but I don’t know what to do? I also feel a bit sad why she never wants me? Any one else relate? 😭

Could you both maybe start going in the room together to console her? I know it’s hard but that helped us when my daughter didn’t want her dad helping with bed time. Also please don’t feel offended by it, she obviously still loves you. It’s normal development for a child to go through preferences for comfort when it comes to each parent. My daughter is constantly switching who she wants. One month it’s only me and then the next all she wants is her dad xx
