Concerned mum

My baby who’s 7 months has started rolling over in his cot, he has a dummy at night, and I’m worried with him now on his front that his airways are going to be restricted, what do i do? Let him sleep on stomach with or without dummy as he seems keen to keep rolling over and won’t settle now on his back with dummy in

If he can roll then he's fine. My boy does and he sleeps with a dummy ... Often falls out in the night anyway.

My boy is the same age and does the same and I just leave him with his dummy but 9/10 times he spits it out anyway while he’s sleeping

My son is 6 months and only sleeps on his tummy at night. As long as he is able to roll back he should be fine with or without

Our little girl is not even 5 months but she has been only sleeping on her front since nearly the start! Closely monitored but she doesn't sleep any other way unfortunately x

I’m worried as he doesn’t know how to roll himself back, is it okay if he’s stuck on his front?

@Katie at that point it's ultimately up to what makes you more comfortable. I, personally, used the boppy pillow until my LO could go back and forth without help

A boppy pillow or anything added to a crib is much more dangerous than allowing a baby to sleep in a position they got themselves into. Until 12 months the guidelines are to always place baby to sleep on their back. If they get themselves into a different position you do not need to move them back.

@GMF I co sleep. I only used the boppy because it was safer for us at the time and had been discussed with a pediatrician. He also still wakes up throughout the night and in and out of bed every couple hours

@GMF yes the guidelines are there and it's good to be aware of them. But as someone who tried to follow all the guidelines religiously and couldn't even cope cause the baby would only sleep on me, at this point if it works, it works.

My baby rolls too (7m) and sleeps with his dummy sometimes he wakes up with marks on his head 😂 never ever been a problem for us. Your Bub will move if he is uncomfortable xx
