Nipple Stimulation for Labor?

Did anyone try nipple stimulation/pumping to initiate labor? My OB office is really recommending it as we’re now 40+1 and talking about inducing past 41 weeks. If so, how long did it take before putting you in labor? How often did you do this per day? I’m trying to have a more “natural” birth process, but am open to interventions. Thanks!!

It did nothing for me, I had to be induced with both of mine

My doctor is having me do it to help with my induction process. We are inducing either way as it is very early. But she thinks it could at least help ripen the cervix, but I don’t think it’s as effective in causing labor. But it doesn’t hurt to try, as it could help. I’m currently pumping 10 minutes a day. My doula also suggested dates and walking to help with ripening.

I tried it I was still two weeks late I'm not sure it does anything

Any activities that get you oxytocin flowing is going to be sooo good. My waters broke at home after an orgasm 😅. I hand expressed colostrum, used acupressure points, gentle movement and lots of relaxing. I didn't mean to start labour so early, but my waters broke at 37+6

I had my April baby at 40+6. You just had your due date so don’t stress! Baby will come when they’re ready. Trust birth. 🫶🏻 most babies come on their own btwn 40 and 42

I started at 35 weeks wirh my first still got induced at 37. I’ve done it a few times this time around since 37 and I’m still nearly 38 weeks wirh nada

My water broke but I didn't go into labor so I tried using the breast pump and I would get the contractions but they would go away soon after I stopped using it. But it works for some people, so it's worth a try!
