@Daizee that’s what I’ve kind of thought about is that they say if you leave your baby to cry it out and fall asleep they’ll be overtired and not sleep for long then more than likely be grumpy the rest of the day and bedtime will be affected too. I know at 6 months little ones can be going through a lot so it’s hard to differentiate and learn new cries just now with what’s just refusal to sleep and what’s i need picked up cause this or that’s wrong. If only they could talk at this age 😂 x
My girl is 6 months too and I’ve started figuring out how long her wake windows are so that I can get her in for a nap before she gets too tired. She’s awake for about 2 hours and the last 10 or so minutes I just kind of let her do her own thing and not talk to her so she isn’t too excited to sleep. And then I just put her down with her dummy and do what I put above and 9/10 times it works. They see to kuch in the day now so they hate sleeping my girl has baddd FOMO 🤣
@Daizee I’ve been managing wake windows for a couple months now (sometimes with difficulty & learning shorter wake windows in morning and longer throughout day as they get older) but now with his wake windows I’m doing what I’ve always done and got him up into bed before it’s ’too late’ but I’m not going too early either but he just cries now and refuses to sleep unless rocked which I haven’t had to do in months as he learned to sleep independently quite early, even though I’ve made sure I’ve done everything he needs before putting him down. I was thinking teething but there’s no signs of swollen red gums they are still pink even though he chews like mad on things but also cause he’s 6 months probably sleep regression and that’s the refusal to settle 🤷🏻♀️ awk there’s just so many things it could be developmental milestones etc 😩 and like you said fomo they think you’re having a party in the kitchen without them when you’re just doing the dishes 😂 x
Yess sleep regression I think!! My baby had sleep regression the DAY she turned 6 months and they say it’s when they’re learning a new skill and her new skill is just screaming 😐 my girl honestly has bad fomo like if I put her down and try and get dressed she just STARES AT ME like I didn’t get her dressed 20 minutes before 🤦🏼♀️
That’s a skill they are definitely mastering! 🙈 my boy has been really whiny for almost 3 weeks now and he just turned 6 months today but he didn’t do the 4 month sleep regression until 1 week before he hit 5 months and because his gums are still just pink I can’t think of anything else this will be. It’s like I’ve gone back to newborn stage though comforting him to sleep I’m even more knackered again than I usually am 😂 he’s getting there with sitting more independently as well so that’s the developmental factor too. Haha it’s like how dare you put me down to do something for yourself 🤣 x
I’ve honestly just let her cry unless she’s genuinely really upset and then I’ll pick her up. She’s got a dummy so she has that in and whines for a bit. And I’ll leave her and if she loses the dummy I’ll just go back and put it in for her and carry on until she’s asleep. Usually only takes 10-20 minutes for her to sleep and it hasn’t affected her mood in the day as she’s generally a very smiley baby x
