Can waters break slowly over a few days?

So, once or twice over the past couple of days, I've felt wet and had a small clear leak of fluid. This has then happened 3 times today, mostly when I've stood up/got out of bed. Not had any Contraction, only noticeable difference is an actual pain in my bum/lower back. I'm a little confused, as I know they say waters can trickle, but is it a constant trickle? For context im 40+6 day and I've had 2 sweeps already and midwife said I was likely to be be 2/3 cm dilated. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

Call triage, they'll ask you to come in and be tested for amniotic fluid, it can be an infection risk if left for over 24 hours!

Yes it can. So 2 weeks ago my waters broke. I had contractions however when I got checked out my waters had only partially broken from behind and his head was still covered in a membrane and I was basically trickling water until I went for my planned csection the following day. But like Holly said, call triage to get checked out as can be a infection risk if they have gone over 24 hours ago.

Hope you’re ok OP. Did you manage to get checked?

@Gaby yes I went and got checked last Sunday, they weren't sure if they'd gone, but the midwife did another sweep and burst them! Went from 4cm to 10cm in two hours, then 2 hours later my little Easter chick was born. An absolute whirlwind!
