The first thing I thought was 'must remember to grab my lashes first' 😂
If anyone wants a quick rec on what to pack: In a standard school backpack> one change of clothes for every person in the family- light long sleeve shirt, long pants, underwear, socks, and a pair of cheap sized up shoes for each KID. Toothbrushes Flashlight 10 tampons granola bars/fruit leathers/dense nonperishable snacks sticker/activity book Water bottle A few tiny toys (animals, hot wheels, bouncy balls) Ear plugs Masks (like Covid masks) $50 in small bills
@Francesca LMFAOOOO ok so I’m not the only one thinking this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Trish I feel like I’m gonna pack a whole suitcase just in case lol
Dont- you want something small and light you can swing on your back with two straps, leaving two arms free for moving and grabbing kids! The only scenario in which you need to grab a go bag is going to be when you need to move FAST
We have a fireproof safe with everything important in it. Passports, cards, immigration docs, birth certs, hard drives with photos on, insurance docs, jewellery. It’s all in one place. If it’s a bad fire, I’d just leave with the kids and that stuff would be safe. If I had 30 secs or so I’d open it and grab it (it’s all bagged to go). Clothes, I can go to Primark. Cards are all saved on my phone and watch.
I also have a window breaker in my bedside table to smash a window if needed and there’s a mini fire extinguisher in the kitchen, utility room and office near the kids room
Definitely my 3+ box full of printed pictures and memories
I have a folder with my important documents that I can grab. I'll add some money and make a backpack of stuff today. My external hard drive has all my pictures. Small and portable.
If we had a fire getting me and my child out safely would be the only thing I’d care about to be honest. Everything else can be replaced
I have a lock box that's flame proof up to a certain point. It has all the kids' ultrasound pics and hospital bracelets. And pictures. Birth certificates and ss cards. I would grab the kids, then the tornado bag. It has everything we need for a few days. Diapers, wipes, clothes for everyone.
My kids that’s all!
If the go bag wasn't on the path to the only safe way out, we would get the kids out to a safe place and if the fire wasn't so bad yet, I would probably channel Station 19 and run back in to get the go bag.🧑🚒 (Probably wouldn't go back in because anything can happen and my babies lose their mom but in my head I would...)🫠
all my important documents, kids first of course everything else can really be replaced

I would only want to get my kids and cats out.. if I look like a swamp troll, at least I'm a living swamp troll 🙃🫠🧌
We have a small box that has different folder containing things like birth documents, marriage cert, passwords, warranties, taxes, adoption, medical history, animal health history, and special photos. It's an easy to grab box. Then we have leashes at the door. There's a change of clothes for each of us in the bottom trunk part of our car, a sensory bin, and some fidget toys. The doggy seat belts are already in the car and some chew toys.
@Trish Oh yeah definitely! Lol I’m gonna need a large back pack then 🤣
@C omg that’s a good idea to leave some spare clothes in the car instead!!! I should buy a pack of cheap clothes/underwear ahead of time and just leave it in the car.
Nothing fancy! Just a pair of joggers for everyone, a t-shirt, a zip-up sweater, undies, & socks.
We have a fireproof box for all important documents, so don't worry about them. I'd grab my sons meds and some clothes. Everything else is already on my phone or in my phone case (so I'd guess I'd grab my phone, too) Everything else is replaceable.
I have a go- bag, right by the front door. If that’s the safe door to go out, I’ll grab it. If not, just the kids and whatever I’m wearing! Highly recommend a go bag though!!!
