i haven't personally done it but definitely get the okay from ur dr first ! i heard it speeds things up a lot
I took it at 41wks and 3 days with my widwifes approval and that shit fucked me up . My contractions when from 0 to 10k and I will confidently say I will never do it again I will add I was only 1cm dilated
Took 2 tbsp every night for the past week, nothing happened !
I knew someone who drunk a small bottle (I do not recommend) she had her baby while simultaneously having diarrhea. She also said her baby had meconium aspiration which could be a side effect of castor oil if it has time to pass the placenta barrier
The only person that I personally know who has taken castor oil had an emergency c section due to potential meconium asphyxiation
I read studies on it. And the verdict….i wouldn’t do it
I did castor oil at my midwives approval at 40 w 5 days (4 tbs) and it gave me horrendous diarrhea. Caused prodromal labor but once I fell asleep I woke up with no contractions. I ended up giving birth on 41 and 1. I also did a membrane sweep that same day I took the castor oil. I think I was really let down after I didn’t go into labor that night and it made me pretty stir crazy those days leading up. All this to say baby will come when baby is ready! You can certainly try because I know some people go into labor immediately but just give yourself grace if it takes you a couple days like it did me. I know how uncomfortable it is toward the end I wish you the best!!
I did the midwives brew and it made my blood pressure go up. I’m not sure about just castor oil but I would just let things happen naturally
I tried that and the midwives brew and nothing worked out only gave me diarrhea. So its not even worth it because it doesn’t work anyways lol
I took 1 tbsp at 41 weeks with my midwifes approval (they said to take 2 tbsp) and went into labour that evening and gave birth that night. I was 1cm dilated the day before
