yeah this is my first baby
I don’t think being plus size would make a difference you feel it from the inside ❤️. Totally normal not to feel until 24 weeks. I started to feel a bubble from 18 weeks. I’m now 21 weeks and only really noticed a few movements every day now. Will come soon for you! X
With your first baby it’s normal to feel movement less, nothing to worry about until at least 24 weeks and everyone is different. Your size also wouldn’t affect it x
It can take up to 24 weeks, don’t stress. It depends on the position of the placenta too
I didn’t feel anything until 24 weeks with my first. I was a size 16 pre-pregnancy back then x
I don’t believe the whole thing when people say “if it’s your first baby you won’t feel nothing until 24 weeks” I’m pregnant with my FIRST baby, and I’ve been feeling movements since 13 weeks. Im also plus size. I have a posterior placenta, maybe it’s the placenta position. But I don’t think it’s got anything to do with being over weight bc I am, and anything to do with being first pregnancy. X
I’m 21 weeks this week with 2nd baby and an anterior placenta and only just started feeling little pops x
Just Started feeling the odd movement the last few days (17) but I have to properly concentrate so don’t actually take any proper notice x
I’m 17 weeks with my second and not felt anything, with my first I didn’t feel anything till 22+ weeks x
@Nic wow that’s very very unusual to feel them so early when they are so tiny, only about 6cm long! You are very lucky, but I think that it’s very rare to feel that early. So to reassure others it’s definitely more the norm between 20-24 weeks. Sometimes people can confuse some of the other sensations going on in the early second trimester as feeling baby. But of course it could also be baby. I certainly didn’t feel by bub until I was 24 weeks, and then it suddenly happened when I was in the cinema, I was so excited! I am now 20 weeks with my third pregnancy and only felt this one at 18 weeks and it was only tiny little pops. I’ve still not had any full kicks yet. Everyone is totally different, but it’s very very normal to not feel anything until 20+ weeks :)
@Rachel i felt bubbling feelings at 13 weeks, midwife said same thing. Everyone’s different. I’m now 19 weeks and feel him move.
My first baby and I felt movements 18 weeks , now 21 weeks and definitely getting more frequent. My midwife said because I’m quite slim I would feel the kicks more. Although I have quite a big bump already 😂 having a boy. I think everyone is different, different anatomy, different body shapes, different positions of placenta. Wouldn’t stress too much. As long as you feel from 24 weeks if not contact midwife x
@Nic that’s really lovely you are very lucky to feel so early
@Nic it’s true that it’s not always the case for first time mums, it’s just that there is no reason to worry if you don’t feel movement before 24w, babies are still really small up to that stage. I could feel movement with my first from 16-17w with an anterior placenta. There’s no right or wrong really, just that before 24w there’s no reason to worry or have further investigation etc

I had a BMI of 46 with my first and I didn't feel anything until week 24
I’m nearly 19weeks 2nd baby, posterior placenta still can’t tell if it’s baby moving or wind 😂🫠 I had an anterior placenta with my 1st didn’t feel her move until about 21 weeks xx
I’m 19 weeks and still not feeling anything. I have an anterior placenta though. I also had one with my first and didn’t feel her until 22 weeks. I felt a little flutter at about 16 weeks on the side but he’s obviously moved now and back to feeling nothing. So totally normal!
I am 19wks4 days and been feeling flutters since 16/17 weeks but no kicks yet. I have a anterior placenta x
I’m 21+3 with low posterior placenta and still can’t tell what’s baby and what’s just wind! Normally I feel something when I’m not thinking about it all and then I question myself!
Yeah I’ve had movements since about 14 weeks but it’s my third baby. Is it your first? X
