Schools
This might sound stupid but what actually happens before your child starts primary school. Do they just get their place then show up in September or will the school contact parents with extra info, starting dates etc? Lol I’m such a first time mum!

My offer says that I will receive a letter from the school in a few days so I assume they’ll advise on the letter what I need to do
If I remember from we toured the school, they'll have a couple of transition days before starting, parents will be invited to meet teacher and have another look around school, with all term dates given etc. When they start we were told we could choose full time straight away or half days
I guess people have until the end of April to accept or decline their offers so I’m not hoping to hear from our school right away. On their website it says kids will have trial days to get a taste of reception in July but I don’t know the dates. And then towards September I expect some info on uniform etc

So with my first (12) parents where invited in for a 1-1 meeting with the teacher, they also did 2 sessions before summer for transition then did 3 half days in the September before starting full time BUT he was in the preschool attached so I don’t know if they did more for the kids not coming through the preschool :)
