I found swaddling her, white noise and red light helps my little one. She used to never sleep anywhere but on me, I was just consistent and stuck with the same nighttime routine every night. I also feed every 3 hours or when she wants in the day, so I know by bedtime she has a full tummy! She now sleeps 8 hours, unless she has an off night, which of course are completely normal! She will not sleep independently in the day though, no matter what I’ve tried! I just keep trying to put her down. Even if it only lasts 10 minutes x
@Anett how’s olds your little one? Are they sleeping through the night and if so, at what age? X
@Tiffany yess! I know that it’s good to try fill them up during the day so they won’t need as much milk during the night so I am constantly offering him a bottle but most the time he will refuse it 😭 until he’s actually really hungry!
Lay him down awake, if he cries give him a couple of seconds, pick back up and settle, lay back down awake, continue like this, he will realise that you’ll come when he needs you and he’ll end up falling asleep by himself, this will lead to night time self settling and going the longer stretches, not necessarily all night but longer xx I would always move somewhere he couldn’t see me so he didn’t get used to having to see me to fall asleep, but you can sit next to the cot if you wish (some say it’s easier) xx Also keeping the room quiet and dark during the wake ups and as fast as possible helped us (eg, I would change his nappy whilst dad made his bottle) xx
My 2 month old sleeps from half 10/11 until 7 in the morning we started giving him a routine from young , bath at 9 we use nalas baby night oil , he has a bottle around 10 . I make the room dark to when feeding him so he knows it’s bed time and he sleeps in a sleeping bag and then in the day I make sure the room in light so he knows the difference
They are all different. Sometimes mine will go 9pm to 3am but others it’s every 2-3 hours. They are still so small, don’t expect them to sleep through yet. Some just do. Keep doing what you are doing and one day they will just get it and sleep through :)
Honesty, you just need to keep doing what you are doing and eventually your baby will be fine to be put down in the crib. My boy always woke up when we attempt to put him inside his crib, but then he was fine. Always put the feet first then the bump, back and head. Perseverance and consistency is the key when they are young
