Also taking a shower with them in the room somewhere with the door closed to create abit of a steam room helps xx
It’s because the vapours are too strong. I didn’t start using it with my little one until she was like 1 year and even then in a big room and plugged away from her. It may be a good idea to run the shower or bath with the window shut and door closed and let the bathroom steam up a little. That will work wonders- it worked super with my little one when she was 1 month. Also invest in a Nose Frieda - it is great for easing congestion.
I used it with my 3MO, I put it on in the room for about half an hour then waiting 15-20 minutes before taking him to bed, it was a much better nights sleep for him!
Thanks you. I did try olbas oil in hot water a couple of weeks ago as that’s something I tend to use when congested and I then see it says on there not to use under 3 months so panicked. She only sleeps in vest and sleepsuits she won’t swaddle or use a sleep bag. She was in togged sleepsuits when it was colder. At the moment our room is quite warm 20.2 so we do have a window on the latch most the time. She has her next to me on a slight incline from birth as she’s always had a bit of congestion but it’s gotten worse past couple of weeks. I’m going to run the shower hot a sit in there for a few minutes before I take her in the bedroom see if that helps and get some vapour rub and nose frida tomorrow xx
Are you sure it isn’t due to reflux, or silent reflux?
So we’ve had a lot of problems first of all was told colic, then CMPA as she had blood in her stools so was put on prescribed milk that then made her even more poorly so she then got put back on to regular formula and they said reflux and now she has thickener in her milk. My eldest had reflux and never had anything like this so it’s been really hard 😣 as it’s very rare she’s actually settled.
I use them for my eldest but he is nearly 2. Personally I wouldn’t use it with the baby as they are very strong. If you do use it then just keep the room ventilated with a window & door open. I think it’s just because they are really strong so can probably irate their chests more than help if that makes sense. Or you could put it on for a couple hours before bed & turn it off just before you go up but definitely not on all night. You can also try putting vapour rub on their feet & adding socks and Olbas Oil in the sink with hot water in the bathroom sink whilst they take a bath. At this age it’s just abit too intense. Also depending on what baby sleeps in, you can raise one side of the crib so that they are slightly inclined, helps when on their backs xx
