We’re the same. It took about a month to get my daughter to take an expressed bottle, but I haven’t consistently given her bottles. I BF everyday, but she starts nursery this week. She can take bottles from others when she feels like it, but she doesn’t eat a huge amount of food. Will be interesting to see if this changes with her being in nursery. Mine is up nearly every 2 hours for feeds. I can’t believe I can still function not having a full nights sleep in 11 months 🤣
Same! He does a longer stretch at the beginning of the night but then is up hourly. If I try to just cuddle or rock to sleep instead of feed you would think I was murdering him! I end up putting him in bed with me to get any sleep
@Lauren we're exactly the same - a long first stretch and then hourly wake ups with a feed being the only thing that gets her back down. I'm a zombie 😴
Yes absolutely! Breastfeeding on demand/responsively feeding is what's best for baby. My daughter doesn't feed any where near as often as my son did, but she's still feeding every few hours and to sleep/through the night. My 3.5yr old feeds more than she does now 🤣 (still mostly feed him on demand too)
Me too although he doesn't really need to feed during night most nights...he does stir but goes straight back to sleep xx
We’re still breastfeeding on demand but I’m back to work in two weeks so going to be giving bottles of expressed breast milk but I’m not sure how much he’ll actually take.
Me! My LO has his milk every 2-3 hours, and has 3 meals. He loves to eat, but is only a light little thing at 8kg. I wish he’d be heavier but both parents are also small so maybe it’s just the way he’s meant to be
I found that I had to ensure that there was at least an hour in between BF and solids to make my LO hungry enough for solids, so needed to move my boy onto more of a feeding routine. Once he started to really eat solids I found he needed less BF if that’s helpful to anyone trying to get their baby to eat more food. I also introduced a bottle pre bedtime as he was falling asleep on the boob/getting distracted and not drinking a lot and now he drinks 7-9oz pre bedtime and sleeps through most of the time where before he would only feed for 5mins and fall asleep
@Jess hey, how did you get your daughter to take an expressed bottle? Mine is refusing and Im back to work soon so not sure what else to do x
@Sonia have you tried a sippy cup instead of a bottle? I was under the infant feeding team when he was born I was given a choice either bottle or feeding tube and thankfully he has went between boob and bottle since birth but they advised just to get cheap supermarket own brand bottles x
My boy has 4-5 feeds during the day and 3-4 during the night. He eats food well as well, and drinks water. He just wants the milk too! I don't plan on cutting him down more until he's ready. That's just my preference ☺️ imo they do things when they're ready. I'm trying to cut down the night feeds slightly tho as I would like a bit more sleep 🤣
@Lauren Thank you. I have tried with a sippy cup, he refused 🫣 I might try just a tiny bit of a cow milk to see if that’ll work… x
No it's me too! Im finding it impossible to cut down especially at night. My boy is the same with solids too he hasn't really taken to them great. I'm hoping nursery night help when he sees other children eating x
