@Helen thank you, just curious if it was moved to the following day, would you then be priority in the morning?
I was told I was only allowed a small amount of water ( I was in morning so check with them) I had to be put on monitor to check baby, put stockings and gown on, and basically just wait, surgeon came in went through questions asked I was okay and how I was feeling, then when ready take down to recovery and wait for them to be ready, and then about 10 mins later they were so walked into the surgery room and then went from there. Before I went into the surgery one of the midwives did me a little photoshoot like last pregnant pictures and everything! X
I was allowed sips of water all day for my afternoon section! Just hang in there, take a book or something to keep occupied and it’ll fly by! Good luck 🫶🏼
I had a planned c-section for the afternoon as well. There were 3 of us, I was planned to go as last that day. Unfortunately there was an emergency, so they sent me home in the evening with saying that they will call me when to come again:/ maybe I had a bad luck, but that was Friday and I waited for their call until next Tuesday and had to call them by myself to actually remind them I was planned to have a c section. So I had to go for a blood test again the next day and then on Thursday I was planned again for afternoon, but I went as first. So I would be prepared for anything, especially if you are not at risk or emergency. It kinda messed up with my mental health, because I was so ready to give birth that Friday and then had to wait almost another week, didn’t expect that at all. But I’m sure it doesn’t happen often and I probably had a bad luck, also I had to wait because it was Friday and they dont do planned section on the weekend. Good luck!!🍀
@Kate thank you for letting me know! So sorry that happened and I’m sorry your mental health took a toll, I am also scared for this to happen to me as the section is booked for this Friday! Feeling all kinds of anxiety but hoping for the best no matter what happens Appreciate you sharing 🫶🏾
You’ll be allowed water and I was allowed lucozade sport as well which was a life saver as we ended up waiting for 12 hours just to be told they couldn’t do it that day 🤦♀️😂 second time round it was fine though.. to be honest I didn’t really feel the urge to eat anyway.. once you get over the ‘I’m kinda hungry’ feeling it all just turns into excitement anyway. Good luck! :) x
@Jemima thanks for sharing, I just don’t want to be hangry but can’t help it😂 When were you told to come back for the surgery btw?
On that day you can be whatever you want 😂😂 So mine was booked for a Friday originally and was told to come back the following Tuesday x
@Jemima that’s true 😂😂😂 Thank you for letting me know 🫶🏾
Water should be fine, just obviously don't drink loads, enough to keep your mouth from being dry. They'll give you anti sickness before hand to help prevent you vomiting. It all depends how many emergencies go on to when you'll go in and whether you'll be told to come back the next day.
