I also didn’t feel any braxton hicks with my first - I went to triage at one point and it showed I was having them on the monitor and they seemed surprised I couldn’t feel them, but I just couldn’t tell! 35 weeks with number 2 and for the past week or so it feels like I’ve had them constantly and it’s not just tightenings it’s also mild cramping pain like contractions. The only reason I know they’re not real is they only last a couple of seconds then stop but are on and off for about 20mins at a time 🤦♀️ telling myself if it was the real thing the pain would last a bit longer - and have heard they can be much worse second time round because your body knows what it’s practising for. If you’re worried or in any doubt though definitely get checked, no harm in doing so!
I could have written this word for word last week, I turned 33wks last Thursday it it started on that day too- felt like bump dropped and started getting STRONG contractions. I went to triage because I was concerned they were early labour contractions. Even on the toco I was getting up to 65, so a lot stronger than braxton hicks. I’m 33+ 5 days today and I just feel tightening every now and then but the cramps have eased off. If you’re ever unsure or in pain please call triage, it’s what they’re there for
I HATED Braxton hicks lol. My OB had a line I could call. When I would call, they would ask me to either take magnesium or a warm shower/bath to calm it. If it didn’t stop then I needed to call them back, we go over what changed in the hour or so then they’d advise if I’d go in. I don’t know about you, but I hated going to the dr when I was pregnant and it was nothing lol. So I would call first and see what they would suggest! They should go through a bunch of stuff with you. The bath and magnesium usually worked for me tho
