Baby movements

This may be an odd question and me just over thinking it, but is there a typical amount of kicks/movements we should feel in a day? I’m 27 weeks now and sometimes baby is active with strong movements for what feels like quite long intervals during the day! Not sure if I should ever be concerned they are moving too much?

Following.. because I haven’t figured out at 29 weeks as well

i’m in the same boat, i’m 26+4. some days i find baby moves and kicks so much but then i find there are days where the kicks and movements are much less! never sure when i should be worried either… x

Exactly the same here at 29 weeks. So hard to work out what’s ‘normal’ x

I think it depends on your activity level cos my boy is the same I'm 27+5 and some days I feel loads and others not much but I find i feel more if I've had a lazy day

Glad it’s not just me. I find the guidance so vague but understand that every baby is different so they all have different movement patterns. I think I would know if it was an extreme reduction in movements but find it a lot harder to know when an increase in movements would be a concern if that makes sense!

Omg I’m the same!! I see so many posts about baby not moving much but feels like mine never stops 😭 I’ve looked online and they say most of the time an over active baby is a good sign of being healthy so I’ve put it down to that and I feel he’s always the same it’s not like it’s changed suddenly or anything but if you are really worried you can go to MAU and get checked out just incase for peace of mind x

I’m 29 weeks and had exactly the same thing! I mentioned it to my midwife and she said it’s a good sign as it’s the baby wasting energy and it’s good that they have lots to waste! x

Same here at 26+4! Movement is all over the place. I think it depends on depends on how active I am during the day - if I’m up and about, cleaning, walking, busy etc I won’t feel much but today I’ve been sat at my desk working from home and felt a loads of movement. No pattern other than that and I always think “should I call in” but haven’t yet.

@Georgia this is really good to know thanks for sharing! Was also going to mention it to my midwife

I think it’s a strange one but I think you just know when something isn’t quite right even without a pattern, I’m 28 weeks and baby girl has some really busy days then there are days where it seems like it’s not so much, but nothing that worries me. I think when you are more active through the day you tend to not have that noticeable focus on movement. Whereas a lazy day you’re more inclined to pay a little more attention.
