Above is spot on, funding kicks in the term after they turn 9 months and this is 30 hours from September. The 30 hours per week is only during school term time so if your nursery lets you spread this across the full year it works out at about 22 hours per week. Also worth noting, they're funded and not free. Nurseries don't have to provided funded places and they are able to charge a top up fee for certain things 😊
How can you get back into work with this?
30 hours from September. Be aware though - our nursery has said the government has changed T&C’s so they’re only allowed to provide one funded place to a child per day (so either am or pm) and if we want the full day we have to pay for the other session! So it’s 50% funded if you need full days. Not sure if it’s all days but it’s pricey even with the funded
@Naomi he was 9 month in the Easter holiday. Are we not in the term after now? Or is that still September?
The hours for 9 month olds don’t start until Sept 25. That’s the first term you can apply.
At the moment nothing, but from September if both parents are working and earning within the amounts specified he will be entitled 30 funded hours.
