Elective C-Section Booking

I had a birth options call last week and I’m opting to go for an elective c-section this time around as my previous birth was an emergency c-section due to gestational hypertension & preeclampsia along with a failed induction. I’ve gone down this route for medical reasons, but to also feel more in control of my birthing experience this time around. I was told that an obstetrics doctor will book in my C-Section date for me at one of my obstetric appointments. For the elective c-section mums, how far along were you when your date got booked in? And also, did you have to bring it up to them again or did they just book it in one day randomly?

Following cause I also had an emergency C-considering having an elective when we have another baby

Mine came the day after that phonecall at 28 weeks, I think every trust is different so probably worth giving them a call to ask!

I think I was like 35 weeks, basically as soon as the doctors' schedule for the month came out and they could start scheduling patients then I was able to schedule

I had mine booked in at 26 weeks x

Booked at 35 weeks for delivery at 39 weeks

In the area I used to live they started to book you in from 36 weeks for between 39-40 weeks but you could get your date as late as 38 weeks and it was under the understanding that you could be bumped at any point. We’re in central London now and I was offered at my 24 week consultant appointment to get a date booked in then and there if I wanted an elective section. It’s dependant on the trust which is wild really how different the levels of care can be x

36weeks mine was my due date was the 9th April got my date for the 7th April he’s now 2weeks +2 days 🥰

I got phoned on the Friday asking me to come in on the Monday and I had my daughter at 39+4 weeks

I was about 30 weeks when they scheduled me in. I kept pushing for a date. I was high risk and ended up with an emergency c section anyway at 36 weeks.

I got booked in at 20 weeks with both my babies! X

At my 36 week appointment the consultant picked a date in his diary for week 39 and that was my date. Every hospital does it so differently though x

When I next went to an appt with the consultant at the hospital I asked him if we could book it in I was around 30 weeks
