Primary School choices

I know this year I have to start looking at Primary Schools for my 3.5 year old for next year. I live in London and don’t drive so use only local transport (the traffic is horrendous iykyk). I am looking for schools closer to my home as I really don’t want to do the long journeys back and forth on a bus daily. There are other schools I would prefer my child to go to but are 1 hour journeys away on a bus. My question is - would you rather your child go to a school you really want but is far away or go to one closer to home that isn’t top choices??? Would you say school distances impact your selections?

Definitely closer! The school day is actually really short so you'll be spending most of it travelling

Ooo tough question! This would depend on the reason why I didn’t like the local school I think. If I didn’t like the school because it didn’t have Forest school for example I would just suck it up but if there had been a recent Ofsted report which said early reading wasn’t being taught effectively for example then I would have concerns about sending my child there.

P.s I’m so not mentally ready to call my November baby a 3 and a half year old 😭

I don’t like my locks school cos she actually went nursery there and I had to pull her out a month after. She is currently in preschool at the school I want her to go and it’s 30 min journey. I started my driving and aim to get a car by latest June. All ready for full time next year. Cos I hate mornings and she’s gonna be late so driving is the best
