Early labour? Should I call the midwife?

@Jess they’re still manageable at the moment so that’s what’s putting me off calling, I haven’t lost any water or my mucus plug so I can’t be sure if I’m in active labour or not 🤣 but I will call them and ask what they think, thankyou!xx

Call and ask, they might want you to wait until 5 minutes or under (so 3-4 within ten minutes) or they might want you in to do a cervical check. So it's good to call and see what your hospital trust prefers

My hospital was very clear on wanting 3 in ten minutes, lasting a minute each, and lasting for at least an hour. But I was in the latent phase for three days and overall was very inconsistent with contractions, they were very kind though as I rang them every day to double check that there was no reason for concern!

If you want reassurance I would give them a call but they will definitely tell you to stay at home until they are 3 in 10 minutes . Mine were 2 minutes apart before they said I could go in so it’s likely they will tell you to continue monitoring until they are 3 minutes apart xx

I called and you’re right they want me to keep monitoring until there’s 3 in 10 minutes, been advised to take some paracetamol and have as much sleep as I can as it does sound like things are starting to get moving! I do hope little one makes her appearance very soon as I’m getting impatient 🥲xx

I have been having contractions every 6 - 10 mins since Tuesday morning 🙃🙃 this is my 3rd baby as well. Unfortunately this stage can go on for days sometimesss. So annoying as mine are so strong, last a minute each time & I haven’t slept in days!

Was this your first sweep?? I just had my second yesterday and nothing yet - good luck!!

@Rachael this was technically my second sweep as the midwife couldn’t reach my cervix the first time it was a failed sweep, this was the seconds where they reached and I was 1cm dilated xx

@Rachael I’ve still been having contractions they are edging closer together but I’ve now started losing my mucus plug too so I’m hoping this means things are starting to get moving! How are you doing?xx

I went into labour after losing mine so fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼 the waiting around is the worst part !!
