I had two caesareans and I took a medium sized wheeled suitcase both times. Pjs and flip flops Toiletries for a shower Big knickers Long phone charger Hand fan as it’s really hot on the ward Snacks Pads
I just took a rucksack for me. Basic toiletries, PJs, flip flops, pads, underwear etc. tracksuit bottoms to come home in. The just took the baby changing back with baby stuff in. A few sleep suits, vests, formula and bottle just incaee, water wipes and nappies.
A holdall for me, 3 backpacks for baby and partner. I've got a few bulky things like Bluetooth speaker and flameless candle set ❤️
Not sexy but adult nappy/diaper was good. And disposable high wasted pants.
I'd recommend taking more baby clothes than you think you'll need, I ended up staying overnight and ran out of clothes after a wee incident and sick everywhere!!
Non obvious suggestion- ear plugs (like the Loop ones that just reduce noise). The post labour ward can be very noisy!
Sweets as in some circumstances you can’t eat actual food and will need the energy!
I used a weekend bag and small cabin suitcase. Put anything you want easy to find in the suitcase as it’s likely that your birth partner or midwife will fetch things for you so saves them messing around. Essentials I would say: - Pyjamas, at least 2 pairs. I had a straightforward delivery and only in 8 hours in total but my son wee’d and poo’d on me after birth so I was glad of another clean pair! - Underwear and plenty of pads - Toiletries for a shower after birth - the hospital have towels so I wouldn’t bother taking up space in your bag - Bobbles/ a clip - flip flops or sliders for the shower - snacks just in case (you don’t want to be in labour and hangry!) - drinks - I took lucozade to keep me going - perineal bottle because the first week is scary! But you won’t be discharged without doing one so it helps - still take a bottle or 2 of readymade formula even if planning to breastfeed just in case I took loads of other stuff both times and didn’t use any of it
The Frida disposable pants (so, so comfy) and the fridamom peri bottle were a godsend for me, and lots of disposable maternity pads!! Toiletries, at least 3 changes of clothes for the baby, your own pyjamas & comfy clothes. Ready made formula (even as a back up if your BF) wipes & nappies. Snacks!
I never packed a bag for my 3 births
I know comfort is going to make the world of different to me, so I’m packing really comfy clothes/ pjs, a small fan, earplugs and my pillows from home 😊 as well as all the essentials of course. I have a small suitcase for baby and a large multi compartment bag for my things
I use a suitcase
