Advice please.

Im currently breastfeeding I‘ll be 2 weeks pp on the 29th. And im struggling mentally so hard to want to continue. I breastfed my other kids till they were 2.5 years old so I know the amazing bond it provides, however at that time I was a sahm without a care lol but this time I’m currently working on my bachelors (I was working on a midterm project while in labor haha) I now have a toddler to chase after and I’m mentally preparing to go back to work in a few weeks. I feel so guilty to even consider not breastfeeding my tiny little girl, what would you ladies do? Should I continue as much as possible? I’m currently mainly breastfeeding and occasionally pump during the day to try and build my freezer stash.

I worked full time with my first two, but I did have the benefit of taking them to the office with me for a while. On days I would be out of the office and as they got older and stayed home w/ dad or grandma more, I pumped in place of when I'd have been feeding. We were able to do breast milk as long as we wanted with each. What pump do you have? I ended up with like 4 because they all had various uses. I got a Willow 3 when wearables were new, but about to sell it because I didn't feel like I got as good an output as with my Medela or Amedas. The Ameda was great because it's small and light and pretty easy to clean, so that was my on-the-go pump. This time I got the Elvie 2 - it's cordless, has a small battery pack that clips onto bra or clothes which allows it to be powerful enough for hospital-grade suction. Only used it once so far but I think I'm going to really like it. The cups are much lighter than the Willow too since they don't have to house their own power supplies.

I’ll tell you what the nurses at the hospital told me. You cannot look around and see who was breastfed and who was not. I formula fed my first and I can assure you our bond is very strong, I am doing my best to breastfeed my second who was also born two weeks ago but something just is causing her to lose weight so I have to combination feed for now. Your child wants a happy, mentally well mom and as long as they’re fed, you’re doing great.

@Jessica I needed to hear this.. currently going through the change of formula / diet because my girl has a cows milk intolerance and as much as changing my diet is something I want to do, I’m worried the slightest thing will then restart her upset stomach. Taking the “you cannot look around and see who was breastfed and who was not” gave me a piece of mind

@Courtney honestly, that sentence just took the weight of the world off of my shoulders. You’re doing amazing, momma!!

@Jessica yes thank you!! It’s hard my family and I aren’t from the US and it feels they have such a negative view about formula just because it’s not the easiest accessible thing where we are from. But thank you for your advice! I think I will end up doing a combination of both until I can completely make the switch to formula.
