Yes! My 10 month old bites down gently and I tell her no firmly. If she keeps doing it I put my boob away. Haha so painful 😖

lol yeah. My 10 month old got her teeth around Christmas so she doesn’t do it much anymore but she bit when they first came in and I would tell her not to bite mommy, remove my boob, give her a teether and mimic bite faces with the teether so she understood. Now the only thing we’re working on is stopping her from pressing my nipple down on her teeth because she grabs it with her hand and presses it down before she latches. And letting go before trying to break away because she’ll just start moving with my nipple in her mouth and it’ll get me lol

Yep! My 10 month old has destroyed my left shoulder as well with his tiny teeth! My pediatrician had recommended screaming/yelping to startle him (??) and yeeah that was a bad move. He thought mom was playing a fun new game. Then I tried the firm calm “no bite” and handing him a chewer. Still no luck. He’s biting my nipple a bit less now which is very good! But the shoulder looks like he’s working on tattooing me a sleeve sigh…

@Kat I can’t believe any pediatrician would recommend that lol. That is a terrible suggestion. I’m guessing they don’t have kids because children will definitely think it’s a game and do it more to laugh 😅 yelping only works on pets unfortunately The redirection takes time. If the biting ever gets to be too much you can always sit him down to himself and try again when your nip stops hurting Still shocked at that recommendation lmao because what?? For kids you have to give them no reaction and redirect lol. That would probably be grounds to find a new ped for me 😂😂
