My 4.5 month old typically takes 3 naps. 5-6 is usual for a newborn but they'll likely transition to 3-4 in the next month or so. She usually has two shorter naps and one longer.
@Miriam does your baby sleep through the whole night?
Goodness, no. But she's low on the grown curve. She usually sleeps 4-5 hour stretches though. How much do they eat when they wake up? You could try increasing the amount to see if they will go longer. Dream feeds can be helpful too.
I don't really know how much she eats, I'm breastfeeding, she eats till she falls asleep egain
My Bub is 2.5 months and he has 2x hour long naps then 1 long nap that usually lasts about 2.5-3 hours then is in bed asleep at night between 7:30-830
My baby just turned 4 months today and she takes about 4-5naps , every baby is different dont feel or think anything is wrong but if you have concerns talk to your doctor about it
4 and a half month old and on 4-5 naps a day depending if he cat naps or has a long one… if he gets less he’s really wingey so I follow 1.5-2 hour wake windows… hoping to get these down as I feel all I do is get him to sleep over and over 😂
Mine had in total 3 hours worth of naps a day. She has always naps about an hour to an hour and a half at a time.
I have a 3 month baby too and she’s taking 3-4 naps. She sleeps when she wants to so it isn’t specific times that I am putting her down but it’s in similar windows each day. She gets some longer wake periods because I incorporate play time (sometimes she’s in her playchair listening to music and playing with the dangly objects, or I’m reading to her or we’re doing a playmat with tummy time). Usually I do this mid day and in the evening so that does keep her awake longer between naps. Once I give a final bottle around 11:30pm she sleeps until 6am most nights.
My baby boy is almost 4 months and in daycare 3 days a week. Those days we are lucky to get 3 30-45 min naps a day. Hell usually pass out after his dinner bottle between 5:30 and 6:30pm. Then he’ll sleep until 10:30pm and wake up for the dream feed. And he’ll be back to sleep until 4 or 5am. Then we put him down again until around 7am and start his day. When he’s not at daycare he can nap for 1.5-2 hrs sometimes waking in between for a small awake time.
Granted my son is 2.5 years old so it’s been awhile but I’m pretty sure I didn’t give any defined naps until he started daycare around 5 months. That may be been wrong but worked for us I guess.
