Feed to sleep

How are people stopping feeding their EBF baby to sleep? He literally has always had the boob to go to sleep and I find any other form of comfort makes him more distressed. He’s 9 months and I go back to work soon so need an alternative that family can use 🫠 also doesn’t take a dummy or bottle 😬

No ideas but in the same boat. Only way someone else can get her to nap is take her out in the car 😂

I can only boob my baby to sleep but my mum and partner can sometime swaddle her in my dressing gown and rock her to music. I read that it’s hard for mums to use other methods as they can smell our milk.

I started putting a dummy in and holding him on my feeding pillow as if I'm about to feed him and rocking him instead. He gets the smell and comfort without the milk and I'm hoping to slowly phase this out soon too. Give it a go hopefully it works without a dummy too x

I recommend looking at sleep well with Hannah. We have gone from feeding to sleep to putting him in his crib and walking out while he settles himself. You don’t leave them to cry you are always with them so it’s a really gentle method and has helped us massively. Before we started the course we had to chose a method rather than feeding to sleep and we went with rocking and I would sing to him and then place him in his crib x
