Yes, it’s been on and off the whole pregnancy but this week I probably managed 4/5 hours a night which is exhausting
@Kirstie this is me!! I keep waking up at around half 1 and then lying awake until about 6am - I’ve tried walks, staying off screens and eating early but nothing helps 😭
@Frederique I’m so sorry, at least in my second trimester I mostly slept ok - I’ve heard the sleep we get once baby is here is better quality so hopefully not too long to go!
@Carys it’s so frustrating isn’t it. I find that the only way I can try and get back to sleep is to put my AirPods in and either listen to a podcast or watch something. Really tried to avoid screens however, nothing works and I end up laying there anyway so figured watching something helps :) I’d be lost without my AirPods during this pregnancy!!!
Have you tried magnesium baths and magnesium butter on the soles of your feet before bed? If I don’t do that every night I am the same. I didn’t have any for 2 nights last week and got 3 hours sleep! I use Sweet Bea Organics magnesium butter (which also helps muscle cramp pain!) and Better You magnesium flakes. I tried some others and didn’t work as well.
I say it all the time, I’d rather be up all night with a newborn than have the pregnancy insomnia. When baby is here I have an actual reason to be awake, when I’m pregnant I’m just awake. This is my 3rd baby and the insomnia is the worst it’s been in any of my pregnancies. Im lucky most nights to be asleep before 2am then I’m awake several times before my toddlers are awake at 6:30am. Thank goodness they are at an age where they happily play first thing in the morning and don’t need me out of bed right away
Sending solidarity to whoever is awake (aka me since 2.30am 😵💫)
33+3 I go to the toilet for a wee every 30 mins - 1 hour and then after a few hours of doing this I’m wide awake!!!! I literally cannot nap or sleep properly no matter how tired I feel 💔
I’m exactly the same! I keep waking up around 1/2am and can’t get back to sleep until 6am. It’s exhausting!!! I try to stay awake later at night and that can help but somedays I’m too exhausted to not fall asleep earlier!
