I was induced with my first at around 7 am and had my daughter 5 hours later. The birth and labour went so well that I wanted to be induced the second time (I think it's because I knew what to expect being induced and was scared of going naturally). I was booked in for a second induction, and labour started spontaneously while I was in the hospital. I hear a lot more bad experiences but I think that's because people don't tell the good enough. Honestly, it went so smoothly for me. I had to stay in until she was born because I had rods that they had to remove xx
I was induced, was a long process as I wasnt going into active labour i decided to have a emergency c section,met wonderful midwifes throughout one did stick out to me her name was Amy she made the journey so much easier by explaining the process..
I was induced and I had such a good experience I’d happily be induced again! Took a couple of pessarys to get my labour stared but from the second one I was in labour for 4 hours! Stayed in the hospital during the induction process and one night after my little boy was born. It honestly went so smoothly. I was so scared as I had only heard negative stories but found looking up positive induction birth stories online really helped me xx
I didn’t want an induction but ended up opting for one when baby decided he just didn’t want to come! It was so smooth and lovely, you do have to stay in hospital the whole time as they monitor you to make sure baby is okay but if you aren’t on a drip or monitor you can walk around the hospital! I was in for 2 days so spent most lunches walking around to the different cafes 😂
I was induced with 3 pressers. On the 6th Feb I had the first presser at around 4-5pm and then every 6 hrs. The next morning I started to get really strong contractions and the midwife came to examine me at around 9am and I hadn’t dilated. I had the urge to push and a this point really really strong contractions. Around 11am I was screaming at the midwife “I need to push” she said to me “ Are you sure it’s not a number 2?” I said to her, I don’t think that doing a number 2 feels like this . She sId that she couldn’t examine me again due the to the risk of infection. (She was a really good midwife and was so nice) the next minute at 12:15 a massive pop and all my bed was wet my waters broke! My mum went to scream for the midwife she came back and examined me and I was fully dilated. She was in shock that I went from 0-10 in an hour. In less than 24 hrs from the first presser! I was only an hour in active labour until my little boy came out. Overall the miwdwifes were wonderful!
Induced at 6pm gave birth by 6am 20 minutes of pushing! You got this mumma ❤️
Re going home it depends if you’re high risk or not ☺️ I had high blood pressure so they wouldn’t let me home but I started the induction at 1pm and he was born at 7.24pm so it was quick anyway 🤣 we were home the next day. I was pushing for 11 mins. He came a bit too quickly but was all good in the end x
My induction was very positive, pessary in at 5pm Friday, strong contractions by the next morning and was 6cm at 10:30, baby born at 2:43pm Saturday. Loved every moment of my experience and I was petrified as i had only heard horror stories of induction! I wish I had read more positive experiences as I felt that I didn’t take everything in from fear! I think as long as you know that it could take a few days and failed attempts then you won’t be disappointed but don’t expect it too!
I went in for an induction at 4pm to be told that it wasn’t needed as I was already 2cm. Long story short at 10:32pm my daughter was born that same night. Really positive experience despite it being really fast xx
I was induced and my son (1st baby) was born after 3 hours 29 mins ! I didn’t want an induction at all but after waters breaking and no sign of things progressing I was told I needed it and it was honestly fine. I had gas and air and a morphine injection (that I shouldn’t have been given as he was born half an hour later) but they didn’t expect my labour to progress so quickly so gave me it without checking when I was actually 10cm dilated! That aside we had no problems. Good luck!
Thank you everyone for your stories, it has for sure helped settle my mind. I do have one more question. What’s the likelihood of going home after procedure, and do I need to pack anything?
I was kept in for 24 hours but that was to monitor for any infection due to my waters breaking so early. I don’t think induction alone keeps you in but if you have certain types of pain relief maybe?
Can forget about the appointment tomorrow. Waters have gone tonight!!🙌🏼
@Catherine good luck!!! Xx
I was induced, but due to my waters breaking and no sign of active labour after 48 hours. I was induced by drip and had to stay in, it came on quickly and I had to stay in ofc, but I had the best labour ever for my 1st time. I was induced around lunchtime and she was born at 2.14am with 11 minutes of pushing. X
